Cecily Byk is currently teaching two very popular classes. They fill up fast. Please check the following link to register for her classes: Chatham Adult school
1- The New Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain

This class is about learning to draw, gaining confidence, and having fun doing it. In this introductory course, learn to draw more realistically and with more confidence. Using exercises based on the book, as well as working with simple still lifes, you will learn to draw what you “see”. New subject matter will be of interest to those who have taken the class previously. No experience necessary, however if you have a sample of your previous work, please bring it to the first class. Book for the class: The NEW Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards. A list of materials will be sent upon registration.
2- Watercolor Painting
Designed for the beginning water color artist, or anyone seeking to advance to the next level, everyone can learn to develop their own ideas and abilities through the control of watercolor washes. Through demonstration, individualized instruction and encouragement, students will work from still lifes, photographs and/or individualized projects to develop and refine their own unique styles. Whether you are just looking to have fun learning something new, or you have a complex project that you are working through (like a 30”x 40” detailed painting of a Wisteria in full bloom), this class will give you the enjoyment and confidence that you are seeking. No experience necessary, however if you have a sample of your previous work, please bring it to the first class. A list of materials to be used in class will be provided upon registration.
